Autumn Magic in a Card: Boojee Pumpkins and Cozy Fall Blends

This card made me feel like I was making pumpkin spice fancy—and I’m not mad about it. I’m fully in my fall feels with this one, and honestly, it was the kind of creative session I didn’t know I needed until I sat down and got lost in it.

The pumpkins were made using the Boojee Pumpkin stencil from This Calls for Confetti. I’ve been eyeing this one for a while and it did not disappoint. There’s something about layering those rich, warm fall colors that feels like the cardmaking version of wrapping yourself in a cozy blanket. Add in the shimmer of foil from the Autumn Memories Foil and Blends, and you’ve got a little magic happening right at your desk.

To create the pumpkins, I used the stencil to ink blend the designs with Distress Oxide inks in a variety of autumn-inspired shades. I let myself play a bit with the colors—some deep golds, toasty browns, even a bit of chartreuse—and blended them until they felt soft and rich without being too dark. Once the blending was done, I die cut the pumpkins out, which made them pop beautifully off the background while still keeping the overall card clean and flat.

The background panel itself is simple but intentional. I gave the edges a soft blend of light blue just to add a touch of atmosphere and help the pumpkins stand out a little more. Nothing too overpowering—just enough to ground the scene.

Now let’s talk about the sentiment because she deserves her own moment. The quote reads: “Autumn is the season that teaches us that change can be beautiful.” And wow—if that doesn’t feel like a warm hug in card form, I don’t know what does. The sentiment is part of the Autumn Memories Foil and Blends line from This Calls for Confetti, and I foiled it in a deep copper. The shimmer is subtle but so elegant, especially against the inked pumpkins. After foiling, I die cut the sentiment and popped it right over the pumpkins, slightly overlapping both to pull everything together.

I added a few glitter dots for just a touch more sparkle and texture—because a little shimmer never hurt a fall card, right?

This card wasn’t just about making something pretty. It was about slowing down. I’ve said this before, but cardmaking really is the way I process my day. It’s how I get quiet. How I stay grounded when everything else feels busy. And somehow, blending fall tones and working with pumpkins reminded me of all the reasons I love doing this in the first place.
