A Birthday Card That Shines: New Release from This Calls for Confetti

If you’ve like me and you’ve been waiting for something fresh and inspiring from This Calls for Confetti, you are in for a treat. Their July 1st release is small but mighty—packed with versatile dies, stunning stencil bundles, and some heartfelt additions to the Alice’s Story collection. This is defiantly a “Need it all” kind of release!

The minute I saw the Arched Lattice – Circles Die, I knew I had to try it. The detail is beautiful, delicate, and just bold enough to make a statement without overpowering the rest of your design. It pairs so well with florals, sentiments, or any focal piece that needs a little extra something behind it.

Here’s the card I created using the Arched Lattice die with soft purples and layered elements for texture. It’s a mix of clean lines and birthday whimsy—exactly the kind of project I reach for when I want something elegant but easy to assemble. To create the Arched lattice piece I die cut it using the precession plate in my die cutting machine on white Strathmore Marker paper- this is my go to ink blending paper. Then I pulled out one of the Altenew color “families” called Deep Blue Seas Fresh Dye Ink Cube. I love the bold summer feel of this ink family and I thought it would pop off the vanilla colored background. I then ink blended my cake and cake stand. I used purples for the cake and a warm gray for the stand. There is a die for the full cake, but since I only had one layer of the cake in my design I fussy cut it out. I did trim down the cake stand a bit to fit the top layer. Now let’s talk about that cake topper!! I hot foiled it in silver and it is STUNNING in real life. The sentiment strip came from the Alice’s Story Birthday Sentiments stamp and die. Y’all this stamp and die set is BRILLIANT! One stamp and one die = a the sentiments you need! I’m keeping mine in a 4×6 photo box. I really hope that Lisa does more of these. Like a celebration set that could be wedding centered… or retirement. Or Mother’s Day. Or Halloween. Well you get the idea. And you know what, that stamp set fits perfectly over the Three Tier Cake stencil.

A few other standouts from this release:

  • The Three Tier Cake Stencil & Die Bundle is such a smart design—it gives you dimension and color layering without the guesswork. Think birthday cards, weddings, celebrations… it’s a go-to set.

  • The new Cloche Hot Foil Plates and Outline Dies are another gorgeous option for building scenes that shine—literally.

  • And of course, the Alice’s Story Birthday Sentiments feel extra meaningful. I love that this set was designed to honor a legacy and spark connection. This is that one image that you can layer over the Three Tier Cake Stencil. I love that one single die cuts apart all of the sentiments. There are 15 phrases on that one stamp, with 2 additional stand alone phrases. This is going to be a staple in my craft room.

If you’re looking for products that feel fresh but still let you reach for old favorites in your stash, this is one of those releases. I’m already planning to use the Arched Lattice die with fall florals, bold sentiment strips, and even as a tone-on-tone background. It’s that good.

You can check out the full release over on the This Calls for Confetti website or follow along on Instagram for more inspiration from the creative team.

Let me know what you’re eyeing—or tag me if you create something using any of the new release goodies. I’d love to see what you make! Until I see you again….

Try the things. Make the mess. Stay inspired!
